Hang in there…its coming!
I’m reaching the final couple of stages of my training at Dance & Theatre College and every week my faith, trust and love for God is continuously being tested. It’s a range of different factors in the mix such as; assessments, shows, agents, auditions, career decisions, becoming twenty-one, driving tests, family, social life, social media people’s opinions and a lot of other things that can easily shift or redirect focus. It all just seems too much! Not even to mention the ongoing responsibilities when it comes to ministry and staying devoted to God’s work, happening all at the same time! It’s just too much for the human body to maintain! We become run down, overwhelmed, tired, weak, and anxious and no way is this the way that God hopes for us to live.
However throughout each obstacle, God would drop hints, create situations or send people to me to remind me of my purpose, my worth and mission on Earth. One of my favourite scriptures ever states; “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) This opened a whole new perspective of my relationship with God. It made me realise that I can’t keep attempting to live this life all on my own, I just wouldn’t last. No matter what, God was saying to me, “Remember I created you, I love you and I have the final say just trust Me”. It’s not a crime to rely on God for strength, Isaiah 40:30-31 says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.
The more you invite Him in, the more He will show evident in areas and aspects of your life which seems like (in the natural-human-fleshy eye) God will do a No-SHOW. After calling, this is the BEST time to wait on Him! Call on Him again, ask Him for more strength and patience to endure and just believe that He will show up, maybe not in your own time that you had intended for yourself but just in the exact time for when He knows that you will need Him. And when those moments happen, I just smile and give God that cheeky look, as if to say, “God, you were in on this!?” And I’ve noticed that every time, I’m maturing in Him and building my Spirit-woman muscles. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)
If you feel like your focus is redirecting from the place where God said where you will be, just ask Him to help you and He will. If you don’t understand where you are meant to be, ask Him to show you! “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you”. (James 1:5)
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honour depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” (Psalm 62:5-8) – Shalom
